What to Expect: Our Window Replacement Process

Renewal by Andersen works with you every step of the way during your renovation projects to bring you the highest quality replacement windows. We understand that home improvement can be stressful, which is why we’ve laid out our window replacement process in eight easy-to-follow steps. There will be no surprises or hiccups — just simple, value-adding home improvement.

Step One: Pre-Install Custom Measurements

The process begins with our factory-trained professionals taking custom measurements in order to design windows that will fill your specific needs. This step is imperative in order to guarantee that the remaining steps fall in to place.

Step Two: Schedule & Prepare

We understand the stress a window installation project can put on you and your household. A member of our team will contact you to schedule your installation and provide you with important details about our process to ensure everything go swiftly and smoothly.

Step Three: We Arrive at Your Property

On the date of your installation, a crew from Renewal by Andersen will deliver your new custom windows and have all the necessary tools and equipment to ensure a successful, stress-free renovation project.

Step Four: We Take Out Your Old Windows

Once our team is properly set up in your home, we will work to remove your existing windows. Our highly-trained crew has the experience needed to carefully remove the current windows without causing any damage to the home or window frame.

Step Five: We Install Your New Windows

Thanks to our pre-installation measurements, our job becomes a simple task once the existing windows are removed. At this point, we fit your replacement windows directly into the open area, and if the area has become un-level, which can happen in older homes, our team will take  the necessary steps to create a level surface for your new windows. We will then test every aspect of your replacement windows, making sure that they open and close with ease and that the sashes of the window operate properly.

Step Six: We Weatherproof Your Home

Once the window is installed, there is a small gap between the frame of your home and the new replacement window. The team of installers assisting you with this project will fill this small gap with uniquely-designed foam that weatherproofs the windows and makes them airtight. New windows are considered to be much more energy efficient, and this insulating foam is one of the primary factors.

Step Seven: We Put Our Finishing Touches on the Job

Since the insulating foam does not match the rest of your home, the installation team covers it with trim. The trim will match the style and color of your brand new windows and works with the foam as a water-resistant insulator.

Step Eight: We Clean Up and We’re On Our Way

When delivered, each of your new windows is covered with a protective film. This step involves the removal of this film, the cleaning of our work area, the shining of any glass areas, and putting your furniture back in its proper place. This completes our process, and the only trace of our experienced crew left in your home is the brand new windows.
